There will be many assignments given during the year. All of them are due the following day unless otherwise noted.
They will vary in type and difficulty depending on the material we are covering. Students can expect daily assignments, warm-ups, notes, written problems, projects, quizzes, and tests.
Assignments will usually be graded as a group during class. Students will grade their own papers to avoid embarrassment. Grading this way will allow for immediate feedback and correction if necessary before new material is introduced.
As a general rule, I don't take late work or give redo's on tests. There are exceptions and the student needs to talk to me if they are experiencing difficulties.
The first place a student should check for help is their notes. Usually, a problem can be figured out by looking at similar problems that were gone over in class. Also, the textbook is a good resource to see more explanation and examples. It is also a good idea to have the phone numbers of other students in the class to call for help. The textbook also has a website that may be helpful. It is www.phschool.com (for grade level students), or www.hrw.com (for algebra students). Also check the links page on this website for additional web resources.
If a student is still having problems with their work then they need to come see me ASAP.
