OHSSL Official Meeting

WOSC 2008

Called to Order: Michael Curry OHSSL President

Business:

Location for state for 2009: Mike Walmark

To determine the location of where to hold state there are several factors to keep in mind:

1.    Some place that can hold all the rounds, rooms, area to hang out, etc.

2.    Some place that the local are can support the entries (hotels, restaurants etc.).

3.    Try to keep a two-year commitment to hold state in the same place for two years in a row.

4.    It’s usually somewhere in the Willamette Valley.

There was a quick hand vote to determine how many would like to have the state tournament at WOSC or at PSU. The majority voted to hold it at PSU. However, this vote is not binding and OSAA determines the location of the state tournament.

The program comes with a lot of resources such as lesson plans, a DVD, Internet resources, etc. There is a handy website that lists poems by topic and there is information regarding the author. www.poetryoutloud.com
